What Would We Do Without Friends

Let me tell you about a friend that I have. This is a true friend. She always asks how I am and it seems that we have a lot in common. I have never met this friend. I only know what is in her heart. I would not know her if I saw her on the street.  If we could only see what is in peoples heart. I feel very close to this lady. I feel like we would be best friends if we were ever to meet.

I don't think many of you know it but the last 9 days have been pretty hard for me. I have been in the ER nearly each day and some days twice. My husband has had to come home from work to take me because I am afraid to call 911. 

I have a stack of bills on the couch that I need to open as well as a a package. Well I choose to open the package and leave the bills for later. This is what was in the package.

An Amy Grant CD!  I love Amy Grant but I did not have this CD.

 An  Audiotape of Chicken Soup for the writers Soul. We always listen to books on tape when we travel and although I have several of the Chicken Soup For the soul, I did not have this one.

 Some Craft Kits to use when I get to be with the Grand-kids

 There was also a high dollar coupon for Max Factor Make Up.  And last but not least, my favorite was the card. The words in the card were so special and I just felt so close to her as a friend.

You will never know what your card and gifts meant to me.  I love you as much as I do my friends whom  I see. Thank you for being the sweet compassionate and loving person that you are.  You are a REAL Friend! Thank you for being YOU!

 Thank you Pher for the gifts to use when I see Haley and Parker. I will tell them that you picked them out for them. :)

Connie-I'm sorry you have been so sick. It is truly wonderful how many of us have found friends here that we care about so much. It certainly wasn't anything that I expected when I first started on Gather-but, what a bonus it is. I'm glad you and Jax have found each other, and she seemed to know exactly what to do to cheer you up.

What a lovely surprise Connie!! You are so right, --- Jax is ONE SPECIAL PERSON, --if only the world had more like her what a better world it would be!!!! She is a darling!!!

I have heard others say how sweet Janet was. Connie I am so sorry you have been ill.
I have three friends on here like that. They were going to drive down here not even knowing where I live when I dissappeared off gather for a week. Yes I too had went into the hospital and was very ill. Then it dawned on them my niece was a guide at that time. My daughter was a member , then they got the information they needed. We make a lot of acquaintances, but some really great new friends too.

It is truly amazing how much mileage we can get out of some kind, little gesture -- isn't it? It doesn't matter WHAT the "thing" is that someone sends... It is the fact that this person put forethought and caring and time into doing something to lighten someone else's heart and make them feel loved... People with such sensitivity are worth more than their weight in gold... A rarity, indeed... :o)

I know how you felt on this day Connie.
But remember, you do alot of good for others too. I know when I received my "journal" from you in the mail it made me feel special.

Jax is a wonderful person, I have read alot of good things about her here on Gather.

I love Amy Grant too, My sister Mary got me a book about her life for Christmas including pictures too.
