I joined Gather a while ago when a friend sent me a link, but I didn't do anything with it. When she told me about the summerpics promotion, I came back and earned some points. Now, I think I might want to keep checking it out. How do you earn more points. What do you need to do and how do people actually get to so many points?

You get points for pretty much everything you do. Stumble around the site a bit and just comment and try out some new things. You'll get the hang of it. The more time you spend on Gather, the more you earn.
and the best thing of all you get paid for having fun
Just view all the posts, pictures, and videos and comment as much as possible. They don't really tell you exactly how to earn points, but viewing and commenting seems to work for me! Good luck!
