Do you think it matters to God what you are?
Should we not believe Jesus died and rose again?
What is your input. Do we all not get to Heaven the same way? Believing in Heaven and Hell. Is their any difference in us?
I know their are a lot of different believes on here.

I was just wondering what other peoples take on it is.
I think I'm eclectic in my spirituality but do receive a lot of strength from my religion of birth-Catholicism.
I know that you shared before that you attend an Assemblies of God church, Martha. I am so sorry that the media and even some of our Gather folks have said some unkind things about the AOG. Just remember what Jesus said while He was on the cross: "They know not what they do."
My experience with the AOG has always been a positive one. When I was in children's ministry in Florida - and we had a group of children's ministry people from all kinds of demoninations all over the county, meeting each month to share ideas and resources, the most help any of us got was from the area Assemblies of God churches. They were the most willing to share resources with small churches with little or no budgets for children's ministry. They were also a shining example of how 4 year olds can lead others to the Lord. :-)
Then, when we moved to Central Florida, there was an awesome AOG camp there. They let other churches and ministries use the campgrounds when they weren't using them, and often for little more than a clean-up charge.
When people started making fun of Governor Palin for her faith, I went and looked at the AOG web site. I believe it said that there were almost 2 million members and almost 3 million who attend. (Not sure if that was in the US or world-wide.)
It pains my heart when I hear people disrespecting any one of my Christian brothers or sisters. But, I'm sure in the years to come, there will be more of that.
We need to stick together and to pray for each other and our churches and ministries.
God sent me to where I am now......And loving it......
The Bible clearly teahes that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heven, and I beieve it. Which Christian denomition one chooses is more a matter of personal taste than anything else. All denominations that affirm the basics as summarized in the Apostles' Creed are within the Christian community and to be equally respected. So everyody from the Orthodox, Roman Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans and Pentecostals are simply different flavors of Christians.
Some groups add extra-biblical writings such as those of zmary Baker Eddy or the Book of Mormon to the Bible. They are not Christian, but heretical by definition as they break the commandment at the end of the Book of Revelation not to add to Scripture.
God's ways are not our ways and vice versa.
I think people like "Dorine" who know so much are a little scary and not too humble. I'll admit the whole Mormon thing with the golden tablets does not scream "truth" at me, but what about virgin birth and one God who is three beings. I am not telling an LDS person or anyone else whether they are going to heaven or not. That's why it is called faith. We are not in charge.
Most of you seem pretty pretty ecumenical. I'll bet it would not have been so 100 years ago. Catholics were called "Papists"" and that was not a compliment.
I agree with most of you but I also know I am not the "knower."

Our goal is to help you further your exposure and to support other gather members.
But if we have put our faith in Christ and received Him as our Savior, I believe He leads us into much truth. We can't pretend we don't have beliefs just so people don't get their feelings hurt.
As everyone here pretty much says, the most important thing is to put our faith in Him ... that's what gives us fellowship with each other.
I don't mind denominations, although I go to a nondenominational church. If you believe in a certain group of truths ... like speaking in tongues, you don't want to argue about it all the time. So go to church with like minded people and you can spend your time growing in the Lord instead of arguing. You can still love all the other Christians and fellowship with them.
I believe the Bible is absolutely the Word of God. I wouldn't enjoy studying with others that kept saying they didn't think this or that part of the Bible was true. & they wouldn't enjoy talking to me being bull headed :) So I would rather study with like minded. I still love the Christians that disagree with me.
We just need to remember that Christ and Christ alone is our common denominator.
