We go through life at times just going through the motions. We often miss or even choose to ignore simple beauty - or more specifically we miss out on the opportunity to see life as art...we miss the sunset, forget about the sunrise, we rush past rainbows or water droplets on flowers...
Externally, we are focused on moving forward, rushing past life's beauty which in our minds is secondary to the 'more important things'.
Poetic Art is meant to feed the spirit and satisfy a hunger that we often forget that we even have. It is meant to stimulate an awakening in places where we often do not know that we have been asleep.
I welcome your comments and questions and most of all I hope that this artistic experience is, even in a small way, inspirational.

(Garden variety genocide)
If, ever, I wanted to commit genocide,
To cast an unwanted demographic aside,
I would, first, pack them tightly against each other
To maximize chances they'd eat one another.
I would deny them work. Then, label them losers:
Lazy-thieving, welfare-loving ghetto dwellers.
I would flash my money to highlight their failing
As I sit back and watch their lives unraveling.
I would keep them distracted with entertainment:
A key factor in ensuring their containment.
The toxins in their food would ensure early death
And they would inhale more poisons with every breath.
I would sell their young ones cigarettes, and cheap beer.
I would keep them addicted to the latest gear.
Their schools would be unsafe and their teachers, unskilled.
None of their dreams would stand a chance to be fulfilled.
I would plant a liquor store or two on each block
So they may drown their misery around the clock.
I would push x-rated garbage on their youngsters.
I'd show them flicks that glamorize pimping gangsters.
If, ever, I wanted to commit genocide,
I would leave all conventional tactics aside.
I would study the example of this city.
I would follow in the footsteps of this country.
