Here's some of the things we loaded our car with... and the deals we found on them. :)
First stop: The Vilas Zoo where we took tons of photos and had a BLAST. Gideon saw the kids with these animal masks and begged for one. At $2.75 how can you really tell him no? He chose this snow tiger.

Next to JoAnne's Fabrics. There's a reason I go here less than once a year.. and distance is only PART of the reason why. Look further and you'll figure out the other reason, LOL.
I bought:
Fur, Fleece and Felt for Puppet Making.

Rhinestones - on sale - for Puppet Eyes and varied crafts.

Then a Sock Puppet Kit. $18 - a bit on the high side, I guess, but it's a lot nicer than most I've seen and Gideon's been asking to make Sock Puppets for a few days now.

Stained Glass painting kit - $1.

Glitter cardstock. $5 on sale from $10.

Then Glitter Halloween Pompoms. $1 a pack. One for me, one for Gideon. Possibly puppet supplies.

Gideon LOVED this art kit. $7 on sale from $10

Felt.. Walmart (all we have to shop for crafts locally) has a tiny selection since they liquidated it all in preparation for shutting down the craft dept... and charges 36 cents per sheet. Here a BIG selection and 25 cents a sheet.

Glitter felt. 30 cents a sheet.

Then to State Street where Clint bought me this for my birthday gift. :D

Then to Savers... a thrift shop.
Found this CD - I have it on cassette, but wanted to upgrade to cd. $1.50 blue tag special. :) Not one scratch on it.

Then found this book for 99 cents. :) Perfect shape.

Then found this art, math and reading kit for only $1.99. I imagine it sold for a lot when new. It's missing paints - the paints pictured here are used and dry, one sheet of felt and some pipe cleaners. The book is filled in on 3 pages - otherwise all new.

Then this Kitchen Chemisry kit. It's for 7 year olds but it's nothing he can't do with help. Things like rock candies, invisable ink and more. SEALED in original packaging and made by the same company that did his Sock Puppet kit (all their kits are at least $18 each) Price paid: $5.99.

So, we had fun and spent a bit too much, but oh well it happens only once a year. :P
We also went to: Olbrecht Gardens, the Childrren's Museum and Vilas Zoo yesterday. A BIG day of fun for us all.

The felt sheets might make up more puppets if there's time for it.
Gideon's already played with his instruments today, made his stained glass car and made all three puppets in that kit. He also drew three pictures with his colored pencils. He still has to open the artist kit and the chemistry kit.
One busy little guy. :o)
