This poem is dedicated to my sweet daughter, Jenna. It's theme is literally taken from a visit to her back yard garden.
We have always had birds in the garden,
lots of birds of many types. My favorite birds
have always been hummingbirds.
One day something very, very different
flew into my garden, enchanting me.
I had to look closely.
I got out my looking glasses, just to make
sure and what I did see, there in my
garden were four little tiny faeries.
They flew about, just off the flower bushes,
landed on a flower here or there, then all
of a sudden started singing in unison.
Their voices were so like a ringing of tiny
silver bells. It lasted only a moment, then
they drank from my smallest bird bath.
I think they saw me and my looking glass,
were afraid, flew off in a small circle
giggling with joy and all of a sudden,
were nowhere to be seen!

Just want you to know you have a typo.in this line.

Sometimes when they make themselves known around here, they appear as a flash of light. If I stare directly at them they disappear - so I've learned to "tune in" with my eyes shut - then they might show me things. (c:*
Two little quibbles:
the first verse actually has two sentences, unless you make the second comma into a semicolon.
"Making it seem enchanting" is a bit clunky. How about, "enchanting me"?

Thanks to you also, my friend Donald for loving Hummers, also!
Delightful and whimsical poem, fairies love to tease us humans and their voices have been known to enchant the most hardened among us. : - )

I must admit. Faeries have been one of my dirty litte secrets for some time.
I adore them.
It's just that not many people these days, find them as beautiful and enchanting as I.
LOL.
Have a great day, dear.
