It was a pretty exciting thing to do, for me. My son wanted to go but didn't want to go alone. It's pretty expensive to go and I had never done it because of the cost and the fact that no one else wanted to go. On this trip, my son who was then 22, really wanted to go. We were traveling with another family so the girls stayed behind with them. Tony and I headed for Kahului Airport and checked in for our flight, with mounting anticipation.
Here are some photos of the trip my son an
d I took from Kahului Airport on Maui.
We took off over the bay in Kahului, headed for the mountains between Kahului and Lahaina.

We were so up close to the mountains, it was almost scary but we were too excited to be scared.

This is a huge wall of a mountain with hundreds of waterfalls. Because of the number of waterfalls, it is known to locals as the Wall of Tears.

Finally, we get to Lahaina and do a number of fly bys, turning around to head back to Kahului.
