I created my summerpic essay last week, with pictures of dirty windows, flies, nasty pool water, etc. I published it to myself, thought it over, and then deleted it, because I had complained about the promotion so much that I was sure someone would say I was hypocritical if I published it.
This is the most iconic and worthy of all summertime pics that I've gazed upon. It is pure genius in its use of contrasting colors, the vibrant life of green grass and gray, long-dead concrete. Dead leaves remind us of renewal and the condom shaped piece of plastic reminds us to practice safe sex. The aging newspaper symbolizes mortality and the word "body" is a reminder of our own. A brilliant yet simple image that should live forever much like the image captured on an isand in the Pacific near the end of World War II. Bravo, bravo.
I think Sandy should have published it and joined all us low down hippos:)

Actually, I just came here to tell you that I found a picture gallery of your long lost relatives while visiting the Fechenbach Castle:) The resemblence is stunning - after all those centuries - I guess blue blood always shows:) .... it's under "My hometown in pictures" - one of my most recent summmerpics posts. I think you will have no trouble recognizing the portraits I'm referring to...ta da ... ha ha... guess it is a small world after all.
