Noonan: Its over, and added,
Most qualified?
No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bull —
Every time Republicans do this,
because that’’s not where they live, and that’’s not what they”re good at,
they blow it.
Murphy: You know whats really the worst thing about it? The greatest of McCain is no cynicism, and it is cynical.
"Mike" Murphy is a Republican political consultant. He was, until January 2006, an adviser to Mitt Romney,

Gee...do you think it could maybe be because Palin stands in direct opposition of every single thing that they stand for? Nah, can't be.
Btw, where were you to complain about how Obama was eviscerated in the media, for months and months on end? At least the things that are being said about Palin are, for the most part, factual.
Day 7. Sure, she can read from a teleprompter a speech a Bush speech writer threw together for her which played well in front of people who would have approved even if McCain had nominated his horse. A perky woman with a degree in journalism and background in sportsbroadcasting ought to be able to do that. She hasn't faced a reporter to answer one question? And we are supposed to believe she will be ready for Putin when she can't meet the press?
Sounds like the exact same thing we've had for the past 8 years. Some "change."
McCain appears to be the exact opposite. Hopefully, if he becomes president, he'll only agree to speak to crowds of less than 50, and with no sign of teleprompter anywhere in site. We still won't get intelligetn dialogue, but at least we won't have to suffer through his robotic, stiff, impersonal, painful struggles to read and stand at the same time.
What heroism is that? He proved that he can demonstrate the most basic human instinct...survival. My, how "heroic." Perhaps you haven't heard what he was doing when he got shot down and taken into a POW camp. He was dropping bombs indiscriminately on the civilian population. My, now THAT'S mighty heroic, isn't it?
Aside from that, why is he so focused on what happened 35 years ago? Isn't he supposed to be representing "change?" What kind of change is someone who can't get his head out of Vietnam likely to bring us?
I live in Florida - they could win
I think that McCain even admits he is tired of hearing about Vietnam. Rudy, on the other hand, will never tire of 9-11. Did you see him trying to act gay when he said "cosmopolitan" Wed night. Wont help Rudy - you will be remembered as running worst campaign ever in FL and whoremonger with a limo and a city credit card.
Fred - quit putting this stuff up. I should be meditating and reading my Rick Warren book (I really have one). But this Palin stuff is like crack, I cannot turn away from it. I am like Lot's wife. More sleazy pix! Real or photoshopped, I don't care! No frontal nudity though. You cannot read a Rick Warren book and look at that.
Well Pat, it's not the media she owes answers to, it's the people and the media, for good or bad, is how we ask the questions and hear the answers.
I love this quote. I feel the same way about all the political commercials. What an insult and a distraction... But unfortunately effective. How can any politician resist?
But these are pundits. We're pretty sure they don't really know what they're talking about - open mike or not.
