Sarah Palin: "Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America's energy problems - as if we all didn't know that already. But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all. Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines...build more nuclear plants...create jobs with clean coal...and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources. We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers. ...
My Response: Sarah, you come from a state where 72% of the revenue comes from BP Oil. What have you done in your state to develop alternative sources of fuel? Your state is addicted to the revenues of big oil. The people don't pay taxes and they receive a windfall profit check of $1,200 every year. Do you think they're willing to give that up to clean up the environment and produce renewable clean sources of energy? John McCain voted for all the tax breaks to big oil that George Bush put into place. Obama wants to do away with those and invest that revenue in alternative energy. So who is really on the side of alternative sources of fuel for America? I don't think it is you or McCain.

Where is the discussion of the issues?
Is anyone watching what I am watching right now? I can't believe I am hearing this.
It's going to be torture to listen to that voice for the next 60 days.
Just like I said, the Republicans are not running McCain against Obama, they are running Palin.
oh well.

That said, I am sure Alaska has every reason to want to drill more oil instead of investing in alternative fuels. I wonder how their great-grandchildren will feel about their motivation.
We don't need short-term pseudo-solutions at the expense of our childrens' futures.
I am getting pretty tired of the insults to pit bulls.
Carla, I knew it was about the oil. One minute we're watching McCain walking around a oil refinery with his fake hardhat and the next moment we are introduced to the Governor of Alaska, the oil goddess. It tells me McCain knows he's going down. They don't have anything else to run on.
