Former McCain strategist Mike Murphy: “It’s not going to work!”

Conservative columnist Peggy Noonan: “It’s over… They went for this, excuse me, political bull**** about narratives. Every time Republicans do that… they blow it.”

Murphy: “You know what’s really the worst thing about it? The greatest of McCain is no cynicism, and it is cynical.”

From everything I've heard, McCain wanted Lieberman but the right-wing said absolutely "NO", so he picked Paliln to spite them all. If it's true, it only goes to show how much McCain cares about the welfare of this country.

I am really surprised the elder statemen of the Republican Party didn't put a stop to this nomination by having a floor fight and nominating someone of value. Hell, I could even breath a bit easier with Fred Thompson as VP (r)
