Metamorphosis - 100 word stories - Week 30 - Challenge

The prompt this week for the 100 word stories group is New Beginnings.  This was the first thing that popped in my mind.  I hope you enjoy it.

I am like a caterpillar entering its cocoon. As I leave the safety of all I have known, I only hope that my results will be as wonderful. I know it's time because I yearn to break free, spread my wings and fly away. Set out with my new beginning. I went in much as the caterpillar - desirous of something different. I was ugly and unnoticed. Now I will spread my beautiful wings. Brilliant blue like the blue morpho or orange like the monarch? Soaring on the winds of every change and feeding on the marvelous nectar of life.

I really enjoyed the imagery. I think each reader can uniquely identify with it. As it activated my own memory, I could think of several times in my life that I felt like this, right on the verge of taking on new colors. Very nicely done!
