The store is open Tu-Sat only, and only 10-6, so limited hours. However, the prices are fantastic. I LOVE this place. Sure, some of the stuff they get in is crap. But mostly, it's clothing which is in good shape.
The prices are fantastic, as I said already. The area Goodwill's use the same price scale for all items of clothing, and the tags stay on when they are brought to the clearance center. Instead of racks, the clothing is sorted onto long tables by the type of clothing it is- women's pants, dresses, women's tops, men's shirts, men's pants, linens, and kids clothing. The prices are dependant on the original price of the clothes.
For instance, anything marked $1.99 or under is marked to $.29 each. Anything $2-2.99 is $.59, and anything $3-$3.99 is $.59, and so on. Housewares are a bit different, with the prices, but the markdown is about the same.
About a month ago, I got an idea to start picking up clothing in baby sizes to sell as lots on Craigslist. I didn't start until 2 weeks ago, though. I decided it would be best to stick to 1 size and season at a time, though, so as to avoid confusion.
My first lot was little girls 12-18month fall/winter clothes. After only 2 trips, I had amassed a nice collection of Carters, Faded Glory, Disney, Kiks, Osh Kosh, and many more. Several could be sets, while others just need a plain shirt to go with it.
All in all, I had 26 pieces- 4 pairs of overalls, 2 dresses, 5 snap-shut body suits, 7 shirts, 1 sweater, 6 pairs of pants, and a 1 piece, Halloween jumper. Including tax, I paid $7.99 for all of it- none of it was stained, or ripped, or missing buttons or snaps, and all the buttons, snaps, and zippers worked.
I sold it -very- easily for $20. I think I should have asked for $25-30. Anyway, it takes almost no time or effort for me, since I go into that Goodwill a lot anyway for clothing for my own kids. I plan to keep this up!
Another idea I have- there's a consignment shop in town geared towards "curvy" women (aka- larger women), so I think I might stop in there, get an idea of what they carry, and a size range, and start looking for cheap stuff at Goodwill that I can consign at the shop.It would be nice if I could earn some extra cash. I could try eBay, but that requires post office trips, and getting shipping right, etc, etc. I just don't like selling on eBay.

I do plan to sell the next lot at a higher price, in correlation with how many pieces there are. :)
I agree with you on Ebay, too much hassle.
sold alot of other thing before,, it is awesome,, however is it leagal or right to buy things then sell them more,, wont goodwill get mad at this....
I think even at $.29 each, I could very easily have wound up with $40 worth of clothes today!
