Sarah Palin Not a 1st Amendment Fan!

Probably by now many of you have read this well-circulated comment from Time:

"Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor."

O.K. so she is not a big fan of freedom of the press.  Is that a big deal?  Who goes to the library anyhow?  Probably just northeastern liberal elitists who still believe that protecting freedom is somehow worthwhile.  What do you think?

I think she is a bad choice by McCain and can see him changing his mind about her well before the E-day. Too much controversy.

What do I think? I think this woman is scary. I also think she is insignificant because John McCain is not fit to be President, and she can't get anywhere without him. But then, I think Sarah Palin and John McCain are insignificant, because I believe the big Republican machine will totally control whoever they use as a front man for the office, so we should just not vote for any republican candidate ever until they completely clean house and restore that party.

Poor, Poor Mary Ellen Baker - she's probably disappeared off the face of the earth now.

Beware, LIbrarians! If this woman gets elected, she'll probably create national campaigns like, "Books are Bad", "Say No to Birth Control", and a movement to create a holiday dedicated to gunning down as many of God's creatures as you can - Open Season On Everything Day.

"Ban something and it immediately becomes desirable to someone who may not previously have paid it any regard." I remember a documentary that was made during the 1980's, I believe, about nuclear war. It was banned by the U.S. government. News reports noted that before the ban about 500 people were seeing it every day, after the ban it was about 10,000. Something to think about.

If she wants to take my books away she should then take guns away from the people who fund her holier than thou crusade. And if she is going to parade her daughter and "soon to be son in law" on national tv don't complain the media is prying into your personal life. Way to go team McCain. Maybe if she read more books she wouldn't contradict herself so much.

I can't understand how someone "pro-life" is also anti life... as in anti-wildlife. Are humans so superior that no other living thing matters? Trust me I am not a Vegan or anything, just something to ponder about her "superior" mentality.

Well, as a vegan who goes to the library on a regular basis, I could get very upset about this. Add the "shooting from a chopper" war on wild animals, and I'll have to admit to being so totally impressed with Palin that I'll have to fall back on my "She is one reason to be pro-choice" (irreverent, illogical, ill-mannered) comments.

Please publish more on this vein. This was great, and got me upset as all get out.
As we go forward to November PLEASE call out the inadequacies and inequalities when they occur to you! It is by publishing the BS that the BS becomes ineffective.
(NOT that the sheeple are listening or thinking...but maybe a couple of them can be swayed by logic...ya'think?)
