It is no surprise that the liberal media who are biased and have paid into the Obama campaign looked stupid when they got the McCain pick wrong. Wrong because they were listening to people who had never held office or run for office, nothing but a bunch of people who read books. So, when Sarah Palin was picked they felt slighted. They had people following all the contenders, but the one their experts didn't figure on.
So, is spreading lies the method of retaliation that the liberal media has reduced itself to. Yes! They spread a stupid lie that the down syndrome baby was Bristols, purposely bringing her into this campaign. What if it were true? Does that have anything to do with the mother holding office. No!
Second, the "investigation" into whether there was an abuse of power of the governor to get rid of guy from his job is interesting. The charge comes from a guy who lost to Sarah Palin for office, and the person who was fired said she never told him to do anything.
But, here's the thing that the liberal media keeps purposely leaving out. Yes, it was a former brother in law, but he was also an abuser, alcoholic, had actually tazered his 7 year old stepson, and threatened to kill the ex-wife and her father in front of witnesses on more than one occassion. Unlike some people who just need to blow off some steam, this "wronged" individual was a trooper with a gun, and basically the Dept of Public Safety were acting like the LAPD in protecting one of their own, even though they knew he should not still be employed there because of the violent tendencies.
Third, when is it acceptable to go after underage private citizens? If the kid was a criminal of a major crime that would be one thing, but she got pregnant. And secondly, to pick on a special needs down syndrome 4 month old shows the liberal media as the scum of the earth who prefer gossip and half truths to the truth. They seem to feed off, pop culture Britney Spears type stuff instead of dealing with the issues at hand. But then again, the media is only doing what it paid the Obama campaign to do, provide unfair, unbalanced, sexist, trash on any potential nominee that can steal his thunder.

So when young Bristol was out late in the pickup bed for 6 months or so, where was Mommy? Did Mommy know or give a damn about the company her daughter kept? And this is the new darling of the Christian right who is supposed to preach "family values" and abstenience??
Don't mind C.J. he's so left he thinks the media is right.
So what Sam?
You a liberal sexist and don't think a father can take care of the kids?
Or should I even ask?
But just keep telling yourself that it's the liberal media bogeyman at work...

Underage has never been off limits for celebrities. How is Bristol Palin any different than Suri Cruise, or Jamie Lynn Spears for that matter? Mmmm... maybe cuz Bristol's mum, Sarah, prohibited sex ed and birth control, and she wants to spread this and her other radical causes across the USA, and next, the WORLD. I dont know about you, but an increase in teen pregnancies is a change I can do without.
Vote for McCain/Palin and you'll get the "change you deserve!"
"Liberal media" - talk about a dead horse, name one talk radio show anyone has ever heard that is liberal.
Yes, right, they are all liberal.
ROTFLMAO
Attacking me instead of addressing the issues of our media and our probable leadership is the kind of politics we should be avoiding... the finger pointing, raging fanaticism, and blind support of one's political party, in loo of what these people going to do for nation and for each of us. What has Bush and Co done for us? If you like what they've accomplished then by all means vote for more of the same, otherwise, dont complain about the economy, our lack of national support, or the high cost of corporate America, etc.
It is ironic that Palin runs on a platform teaching abstinance only sex ed with an unwed, preggers teenage daughter. Have you not seen any of her speaches, interviews or documents? This what she has stated many times and what she stands for. So, either she teaches abstanance only (or nothing) to her kids, or she's a hipocrit. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. She seems like a strong woman, who practices what she preaches. I could be wrong.
Anyway, it's not about her, but about her theories that don't work... that haven't worked in 8 yrs. And whether we want those theories in place in our state.
To me, her family values, is more about how she is handling a situation that is close to her and she has little control over.
As far as the rest of the rant, it seems the liberals have learned from the conservatives pretty well. Didn't the conservatives try to drag Chelsea Clinton through the mud? Among other less than honest tactics?
I would say the big corporation holding media didnt want Palin because they wanted to win.
Nice spin though.
And real quick who does it say witnessed these events????
Thats right Sarah Palin and her family ONLY!
Just a thought learn the difference between bullshit and a fact then post.
By the way, Sarah Palin is not anti-birth control as some on Gather have been writing.
She is Christian and pro-life, but also a supporter of birth control: she's a member of Feminists For Life (FFL), an anti-abortion, pro-contraception organization. In 2002, she wrote a letter to FFL stating that she had "adamantly supported our cause since I first understood, as a child, the atrocity of abortion."

If you were in her shoes and someone supposedly did those things to your family would you want everyone saying that you're lying or would you want them to give you the benefit of the doubt and do a through investigation?
I've read posts by you where you say that you value the truth and you value fairness. Well, I don't think you're being fair. I'm ready to sit and wait to find out what they conclude after the investigation.
AH...HA HA HA!!
And Chelsea is in her late twenties and has not managed to get herself knocked-up.
Abortion is being redifined by the current administration to include oral contraception and the morning after pill because they do not stop conception but rather implantation. So, yes, Palin, McCain, Bush et al and the religious right are against the birth control pill and emergency contraception (as in the case of rape victims in the ER). And they are for abstinence only sex education (aka dont give out condoms).
Soon we will all be like the FLDS women, having 10 kids a piece. Mmmmm, driving a van (or bus!) with these gas prices.....
Geesh ........

No Lera I was pointing out the only witness to these incidents are family members. I have been through 3 divorces and know how nasty they can be. Emotions run high.
So I am very sceptical of these admissions.
When the 11 year old supposedly got tassered how come the police werent called right then and there? Where are the doctors or ER notes to back it up? My nephew got tasered and he was a grown man...so they are basically saying that the tasering incident happened but it wasnt important until it was brought up in divorce court.
If the incident happened and the police investigates I guarantee that the officer would have been not only fired for tasering an 11 year old child but also charged with assault on a minor....probably felony assault.
So again where are the hospital notes PROVING this happened.
That is the whole issue here.
Umm exactly which news source is reporting this? CNN Fox Cspan? I have seen this on blogs and gather and that is it.
That is the whole issue here.

Yep like all them liberals voted for GWB.
This choice shows McCain as an independent, reform candidate, and in control of his Administration, where Obama is unable to control his own party. She's far removed from Washington and George Bush, completely doing away with the old "More of the last eight years," argument.
Palin made her name in part by backing tough ethical standards for politicians, standing up against her own party. During the first legislative session after her election as governor, her administration passed a state ethics law overhaul.
McCain will be seen as driving the course of this campaign overwhelmingly, a real change to the base, and the DEMS will be seen as merely reacting. Palin is Team Obama’s worst nightmare , an impressive resume–way better than Obama, with a son in the Army (and McCain’s son in Iraq), she blows the “chickenhawk argument” out of the water. She makes it a different game.
Sarah Palin defeated a corrupt political system in Alaska, that was entrenched with specialist interests, powerful lobbyists and laundered money
- Sarah Palin has successfully fought to reduce wasteful government spending, including earmarks from Washington
- Sarah Palin has defended liberty and freedom by enforcing and promoting a strict interpretation of the constitution
- Sarah Palin has supported our soldiers at war and at home, including visiting them abroad
- Sarah Palin has fought to reform education in Alaska
- Sarah Palin has fought to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil, and has encouraged the development of safe and clean energy sources in Alaska
The issue about her involvement in her home state is one that was dead in the water, UNTIL McCain selected her for his VP. With full knowledge of the issue, it is clear they think it is to do about nothing. Then Obama's people decided to bring that up again:
AND... did you see this?
According to Lisa Demer at the Anchorage Daily News, the McCain campaign says Palin “was never directly involved” and blamed the controversy on the campaign of the Democratic nominee, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama.
Will they now bring up the long, nasty case of Biden forging documents, and all the other skeletons tucked away in his 20+ year old closet?
Sarah Palin has 13 years as a political "Reformer" --- she can boast much more political and life experience than Obama. There has never been a candidate with as thin a resume as Obama.
I repeat again, even his VP selection, Joe Biden, said, a while back, he didn't think Obama was ready to be president.
Obama has only been a professor and a legislator, skipping votes, just voting "Present," or blaming others over criticism of Congress.
She will put No. Carolina and Georgia out of reach of Obama with the lackluster and enthusiasm she brings, and appeal to the women who have children and work. Who would say anything about a man having children AND a job? Supposedly, Joe Biden did it as a single father.
I think, as a matter of consistency, we should remove all "Sexism" from this issue, just as we did racism, whether it comes from the left or the right.
Sarah Palin is a truly rare individual -- She has absolutely locked down the gun-control vote. Her upcoming TV bio, at the Republican convention will be impressive and focus on the person she is. Watch it. You'll like it. I promise.

WASILLA -- Sarah Palin, candidate for lieutenant governor and Wasilla mayor, was discouraged to find that, fewer than 10 days before the election, someone was trying to play the character assassination card.
Last week, anonymous letters were sent out to several news organizations across the state. Enclosed were printed Web pages that showed what appeared to be a 1993 felony conviction lurking in Palin's past. Nothing was included to reveal where the information came from, and the Aug. 19 postmark read only
Anchorage.
Palin dashed off a press release and even put together a campaign commercial to let potential constituents know the apparent felony conviction was simply a paperwork error. What she had really received, she said, equated to a parking ticket and had been taken care of years ago.
I pulled this up on Wasilla's newspaper. But I am sure we all have those "Oops I got a parking ticket and it was listed accidently as a felony" type of things in our past.
Maybe this is why she didnt win LtGovernor.
And she a good looking grand-ma too. And she got her finger on the button. Are you kidding Delores this is why you're voting republican along with Hillary supporters I don't think so, they might be dumb but there're not that dumb. Bristol honey could you have just waited until you graduated from high school or at least until mommy became Vice President. So much for family values. What a buch of hypocrites.
My answer: Ray Taliaferro. "Rafael "Ray" Taliaferro (born February 7, 1939) is an American radio host and liberal political commentator."
If you haven't heard him, Lucky You!
I do read the newspapers, internet, and listen to the news (mostly BBC and NPR).
Sarah Palin defeated a corrupt political system in Alaska, that was entrenched with specialist interests, powerful lobbyists and laundered money
By illegally hacking into her former boss's computer. In any other state, she would have been arrested.
Sarah Palin has successfully fought to reduce wasteful government spending, including earmarks from Washington
Nope. She hired a legal firm while mayor to get millions in earmarks for her little town. And it has already been noted she was FOR the bridge to nowhere before she was against it.
Sarah Palin has defended liberty and freedom by enforcing and promoting a strict interpretation of the constitution
Where? Cite an example? All I know is that it took a State Supreme Court ruling for her to uphold the state constitution to offer benefits to same sex couples.
Sarah Palin has supported our soldiers at war and at home, including visiting them abroad
Disturbed performed for the troops overseas, too. And lead singer David Draiman has a triple degree in Business Administration, Political Science, and Philosophy. HE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE than her!
Sarah Palin has fought to reform education in Alaska
By pushing for Creationism to be taught in science classes and censoring library books.
Sarah Palin has fought to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil, and has encouraged the development of safe and clean energy sources in Alaska
And every environmental group gives her abysmal ratings because she has consistently wents against environmental regulations to the point of suing to get polar bears removed from endangered species status.
Point taken that even statistics can be warped to your own view, and there will always be rumors and mistruths. For example, my secretary insists McCain is pro-life, that doesnt make it so, it's just want she wants to believe because she's somewhat of a racist. I live in a reneck, oil and gas state, so sure, most here will latch onto anything pro republican/ anit democrat. People believe whatever they what to believe, whatever fits with current religious or family beliefs. But nothing changes the fact that McCain/Palin are republican and WILL following Bush et al 90% of the time.
Palin was a genius pick for McCain, but, because she's attractive, vibrant, has a vagina and a great story, not because she'll do any good for the majority of our country. All of this, from the mooseburgers to the teenage pregnancy, are welcome distractions from the Bush/Cheney mess, but ultimately it's the same party, with the same bad reputation and big business agenda. The same party that sent your sons off to a war for profit, and voted against proper equipment for them while at war, and voted against proper medical for them when they returned. The party that has borrowed trillions from the Chinese just to turn around give it to the middle east countries who hate us. The party that has us teetering on the edge of an economic catastrophy greater than the great depression. The party that will lead us into the next global war, trying to force their agenda worldwide. But most choose to ignore/discount/deny this, and vehemently so, because it doesnt fit with their core belief system.
I, for one, am open minded enough to give someone with a different agenda a chance, but dont worry, my vote won't count in my state... This state very under-educated and always red.
Saying it doesn't make it so...but his voting record does.
They seem to feed off, pop culture Britney Spears type stuff instead of dealing with the issues at hand.
An odd inclusion, considering that it was McCain that brought Britney and Paris into the campaign several months ago with his "celebrity" ads. For months, McCain's campaign has been feeding this non-issue nonsense. Ads that play on Obama being a celebrity. The "Hot Chicks Dig Obama" ad that was ran only online. McCain hasn't been discussing the issues for months, now suddenly you want to call out the newspapers for following suit?

"Liberal Media" is hog wash. The media is an equal opportunity pot stirrer. Did not see them give my guy, Edwards, a pass. They did not take the day off for him and the won't for Palin. LOL!
Well you know if your (the candidate's) supporters are to stupid to figure out how to vote, ie read the ballot or push hard enough with the punch.
Oh well LOL!
86% of the population believes that the some form of action is required to protect the environment and slow global warming (Gallup Poll. March 6-9, 2008.)
78% of the population does not support the notion that pharmacists and hospitals should be allowed to refuse to provide birth control for moral reasons. (CBS News/New York Times Poll)
I could go on, but you are right. It is ignornant to assume women agree with me. it appears men do to.
Who in the heck is she ? No one knew who she was until last week and I cannot imagine a single woman who has an ounce of class who would want her in office.
McCain basically took out a piece of paper, wrote a bunch of names down and picked one from a hat. He could have chosen Strawberry Shortcake or the Pine Sol Lady and Christian Extremist women and the GOP would have said, "Okay, sure."
Not only does his judgement show that he is not running his campaign, and that he is blindly trusting Bush backers, it shows that he is completely out of touch with American women.
The majority of educated women in this country wait to have children and are not fundamentalists. Sarah Palin is a fundamentalist and she is lacking in experience and intelligence. Her teenage daughter is a liability and would make it "ok" for other teens to be pregnant. The White House should represent the best of America and not the worst.
If he wanted an experienced and intelligent woman, why did he not ask Condoleeza Rice?
That's corrupt and illegal.

I'm volunteering in a swing state to put Obama in the White House. We can't let the Republican elite rouse the hapless anti-intellectual rabble who don't know their own interests from their elbows.
She is one of us.
I say keep it up!
Many of Hillary supporters who saw the sexisism of the press against their candidate in the primary are seeing it continue.
Jeff,
thank you, you are continuing to feed the fire that will send strong independent thinking women to the side which shows them respect.
The McCain Palin ticket.
Yes you go boy you keep it up!
Governor Palin is exactly what I want in a VP this time around...and as President next time around. The team of McCain/Palin can kick some Washington butt. I can't wait!
ST. PAUL, Minn. — On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.
On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.
We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.
Sarah Palin hit the nail on the head Wednesday night (and several in the audience wish she had hit some reporters on the head instead) when she said: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.”
But where did we go wrong with Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways:
First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.
Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).
Third, we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.”
Why go there? What trees does that plant?
Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.
Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”
Fifth, we should stop reporting on the families of the candidates. Unless the candidates want us to.
Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.
Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.
Sarah Palin thinks that one is good for her campaign and one is not, and that the media should report only on what is good for her campaign. That is our job, and that is our duty. If that is not actually in the Constitution, it should be. (And someday may be.)
The official theme of the convention’s third day was “prosperity,” but the unofficial theme was “the media are really, really awful.”
Even Mike Huckabee, who campaigned for president this year by saying “I am a conservative, but I am not mad at anybody,” discovered Wednesday night that he is mad at somebody.
“I’d like to thank the elite media for doing something,” Huckabee said, “that, quite frankly, I didn’t think could be done: unify the Republican party and all of America in support of John McCain and Sarah Palin.”
And could that be the real point of the attacks on the media? To unify the Republican Party?
No, that is simply the cynical, media view.
Though as Lily Tomlin says, “No matter how cynical I get, it’s just never enough to keep up.”
I couldn’t resist that. For which I am sorry.
"Liberal Media" is hog wash.
