The former Bush strategist tells WashPost the Arizonan seemingly chose the Alaska governor based on her political appeal, rather than her governing qualifications.

That's right. Rove confirms what we have been saying for the past 4 days. This is a campaign decision. This is NO COUNTRY FIRST! Just win, baby!

Rove also saysMcCain is trying “to make inroads with soft Republicans and those Hillary supporters male or female that can be gotten by somebody who’s a gun-toting, hockey-playing woman.”

McCain wanted his buddy Joe Lieberman, but Rove nixed that and pushed for Romney. So McCain picked Palin on a whim and a political calculus that told him he needed to win over the conservative right wing, women, and moose hunters. The concept of her being able to govern should anything happen to him probably never crossed his mind.

And people wonder why McCain shouldn't be President. Nuf said.

My husband plays hockey and he has a gun, too, but no way, no how, no McCain. Too much at stake to have a trigger-happy man of McCain's temperament and lack of judgment in the White House.

Palin's inability to serve as mayor without creating serious enemies tells us a lot. With the stakes so small, she was vicious, and this extended to the governor's office. Why did Alaska's Republican state legislators want her investigated, until the VP nomination? They hate her! These are the people who know her and have worked with her. She doesn't belong anywhere near Washington, DC.
