A few pictures from my husbands tour in Iraq.

My husband and his brother served in Iraq at the same time although not in the same area. Kid Rock came to do a USO show and my husband's brother was was shipped into the area with his unit for the show. The chaplain of my husbands unit was able to arrange for them to skip the show to spend a couple hours together.

This is where my husband lived while in Iraq. Right in front of this. It was burning all the time.

Wow...those are some good photos from Iraq. I've seen some of my brother's but he was in a whole different area. The photos he has are WAY different.

Didn't the sarcasm come across in that part about the vacation? LOL

Oh and Janet a lot of the places that my husband was in in Iraq hecould not have a camera because of the people he was working with and for security purposes.

Chris, I am happy that you were able to share these photos with us. I saw some people bashing some of our soldiers over there the other day and I was really pist. I would certainly hope no one would bash a soldier on this site.

Esther - I have seen the bashing on this site of both soldiers and family members. It is pretty pathetic in my opinion. Yes they are home. My husband was there when the the war began and his brother got their a few months later so they both spent all 0f 2003 in Iraq.

I really like looking at pictures taken by soldiers that served there. Mostly we see the news type ones instead of everyday life there. I remember when I did a TDY to Iran way back in the day (mid 70's) and saw wild camels all over the place. Some areas were desolate, and others just gorgeous. Glad everybody got back safe, and thanks again for posting the pics!

Chris, this is a great photo essay. Thanks so much for sharing these. I can't imagine what kind of low life would bash the troops and their families for protecting their freedoms. In my opinion if they don't like those freedoms, they can get out of the country.

What a great photo essay. Great photos and a great reminder that, as we're enjoying the last of summer, many young men and women are on the front lines. I pray for them all. And I'm so glad he's home with you now! Have a great weekend!
