Watkins Glen State Park is in western New York, in the village of Watkins Glen, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks. The main attraction are the trails through the Glen, particularly the gorge trail. It is 2 miles long, 300 feet deep, and in places only a dozen or so feet wide. The entrance to the trail is a tunnel, followed by a bridge over Glen Creek. Part of the charm of the place is the stone walkways and bridges built in the 30's as part of a public works project. The path follows the gorge, going behind waterfalls, through tunnels and over bridges. Its a beautiful place. If you ever plan on visiting New York, I would suggest putting this place on your list of things to see. I recently went there and took about 225 pictures. I uploaded them all but I am only dragging some of them into this article. I also have two videos of some of the scenery. The videos can be found here........
Video 1 Video 2 On to the pictures, these are pictures from before we entered the trail.
Going in.
Looking back down into the parking lot from the first bridge.
Just random pictures.
I took this one behind one of the waterfalls.
More random pics.
Almost to the end.
We went back using a different trail. It wasn't nearly as pretty as the trip up, so I am not dragging those pictures in here. I already put in way more than I planned on. It was difficult to choose which pictures I wanted in this article. I hope you liked my pictures. And if you do decide to look at them all, good luck.LOL
