It is true! There is daily life going on in Minnesota outside the politics and protests. Each day during the convention I'll open one discussion for those who have their focus elsewhere...

Today is the last day of the Minnesota State Fair. Check our activity schedule, and if you can't attend, check out this VERY COOL 360 degree image feature to see what the fair is like. Slide 12 might be my favorite, but I like the lamb show!

Winona County considering 4-day work week. Well, I consider one too, but that doesn't go anywhere.

The 360-degree view of the fair is very cool! We have already been there this year, but my husband keeps bringing it up - I think he wants to go back for another pork chop!

Has anyone ever had the lingonberry ice cream? We always intend to end our visit to the fair with a lingonberry ice cream cone, but are inevitably too full by that time.

Today is the last day of the fair on which you can usually find some great deals (like free sweet corn if they have a lot left in the afternoon). It's tempting...

The Fair fine.

However, you mentioned the RNC not, above, just to let you know, there is no reason for me to watch that at all.

But I don't go to any of the fairs at all anymore

It is tempting, isn't it Diana? We ate like crazed people this year (oh, that's a headline!) but honestly, my favorite thing is one of the more simple items: Frozen apple cider pops. Refreshing, sweet, tart.

nope, none.

not interested in the fairs.

I do know that one can see nice pigs and cows and the newer John Deer stuff.

but they're not really for me, as I'm not impress with how to raise a nice cow by a 4F kid. Even tho many are.

The excitement of what a fair is is beyond me.

I prefer peace and quiet on my deck rather that a bunch of folks wandering around looking at pigs and other things and stuff.
