Yes, the whole month of Sept I will be home. In Oct I will be going back down to VA with some friends but only for 2 days. In Nov I am going on an live webcam investigation in Gettysburg. That also is only for 2 days.
Hmmm. D.C. in August does not sound like my idea of a vacation. Hot, humidity up the ying yang. Out of the shower, and still in the steam room, hot and wet as though you're still in the HOT SHOWER. But that being said . . .
Your photos are absolutely GORGEOUS, donna! I'm so pleased you enjoyed yourself, and D.C. is one of the best places to go to see the sites, and for American history.
One of my favorites is the Jefferson Memorial, which I see you have photos of. I think this monument is just beautiful, particularly in the spring when the cherry blossoms appear. Still, it's nice all year round.
Did you by any chance get over to Alexandria (Old Town)? There are some lovely buildings and shops there. The Torpedo Factory is a craft center housing lots of artisans; it's really nice.
We use to live in the area when I was 17, dumb like I was, I never took any photos of the area so now i have nothing to show my children, but oh did they get to see these. THanks for sharing and I do hope to see you share more in the near future!
You are so lucky to be able to visit. It is on my list. Need to see the war memorials for myself. Maybe some day, preferably when the cherry blossoms are out.
