When she told them the estimate date, March 26th the following year, reactions followed a trend. He gave her a long and confusing look – a smile, she thought at first – and left. Mother sighed and turned around to finish washing the dishes. Father darted right through the door and came back in a flash only to throw at her an empty suitcase and yell “Never set foot in this house again!”
She spent the night at some friend – the best, she proved.
Morning brought him with a pair of keys and a grin: “Just a rental, but it’s all ours!”

And welcome back! ;-)
And thank you, Judi! You're as sweet as always! I'm glad you enjoyed this.
If so...very imaginative take, because the picture also shows dried up leaves...looks like a mimosa tree limb to me...but then that's beside the point isn't it....the type of tree..but maybe not as mimosa's seem to sprout where small limbs are cut...then they produce a cloud of delicate looking flowers...followed by long bean pods..all representation of the cycle of life.
I did spot a misspelling "Mother sighted and turned around " should probably be sighed..that pesky t trying to push it's way in....
Anywho...I enjoyed reading you take on the prompt..and thanks to you got my brain engaged.
And thank you Heather, t b, and Alison for stopping by.
I'm glad you enjoyed this :)
