It isn't Summer without the Big Purple Dinosaur

As much as I detested this big purple dinosaur, Barney has become a beloved friend to my two year old son. So (I am almost embarrased to admit this) Barney is starting to grow on me just a little bit, but only because my son loves him so much.

Big sister is spending the weekend with her Nana and Papa, so I have been able to spend alot of time with my little bud over this weekend. The sad fact is, my son LOVES Barney.

                        

This is his Barney stuffed animal, that will sing the song "I Love You" throughout our house at any given moment throughout the day, just by a mere press to the belly button.

                       

                                My son really LOVES this little purple fellow.

      Here they are watching a Barney DVD together and my son gives him a kiss.

 

                       

           As annoying as Barney can be, these DVD's are educational for my son.

                 

                       As long as my son is happy, then I am happy too.

(Just a little side note. This little purple dinosaur may just be the best form of birth control ever invented!)

awwwh cute! My little one is starting to like Barney too. I don't mind him. My teenagers loved Barney when they were little too.

LOL That is so cute when he kisses barney! I couldn't stand barney, thankfully my boys weren't in to it, but if they were, I would love it just like you do. HAHA love how you say its the best form of birth control.

Barney seems to be a big part of childhood. I know all of my grandchildren have gone through the purple phase. These are really great photos.

Marianne-----just imagine how much you would hate him if you had to listen to his songs and rhymes on DVD about a thousand times a week. ha ha ha ha ha

I didn't like Barney either. But, guess what, my daughter did! Her 5th bday party Barney came and played games with all the kids. The little kids were saying, he's not the real Barney, cause he has a zipper! (You could see the zipper on the back of his outfit.) It was pretty funny!

Monica I will have to look but at one time We owned every Barney video that came out dedire was in love with him, kind of like the tinkerbell deal now but they would be on the old vhs format if so your welcome to them

Awwww. that is cute. Maddie isn't into Barney, but that's only because see hasn't seen it. I used to really dislike the Backyardigans, but they've really grown on me.

Your son is adorable. Though, the purple dinosaur can go to you know where! LOL
Isn't it amazing the things we'll put up with for our kids? My son loves that show Yo-Gabba-Gabba on Noggin. It's one of the most annoying shows ever, but he loves it. And, it teaches him good things like sharing, and other moral lessons. So, I tolerate it!

The only reason I can tolerate it Jill, is because I know he will grow out of it soon. Otherwise we would be having a funeral procession and pretending that Barney went off to pretend animal land forever.

My oldest will kill me if she reads this, but she loved Barney, too. The youngest hasn't been introduced to him yet, but she will probably end up liking him. I didn't mind and would sing and dance along with Sammie while she watched, and I will probably do the same thing with Sweet Pea.
