Pictures from my baby shower

Never thought I'd post these online :)

These are from my baby shower held the beginning of June 2007, about 7 weeks before I had my son.  My coworkers threw me a shower at one of their houses.  It had been 13 years since my first child, so I was starting from scratch.  I got just what we needed and had a great time with my friends and family.


Have you ever played this game?  The guests get to cut a string to the size they thing will best fit around the pregnant woman's stomach.  I swear some of these pieces of string were 6 feet long! 






Here I am with my mom.  I obviously take after my father.  My mom is 4ft 9in and 90 lbs.  :)

I'm one of those weird people who -- while everybody else at the baby shower is giving the new mother cute little booties and clothes that the baby will wear for about 5 minutes before they grow out of them -- I always give a big box with, like, the industrial sized Vasoline and baby powder, diaper pins, Q-tips, baby lotion and baby shampoo! ...lol... (Although, I've never had a mother yet who didn't say that they really needed those things and appreciated them... ;o) )

Yep - we played the string game. We also played the "baby food game" - where you buy 4 jars of babyfood and take off the labels and you have to "guess" what the food is. It can be MUCH harder than you think!
We've also played the "ultrasound" game - you take the ultrasound photos and guess what bodypart you're looking at. :D
