Hi folks,
I worked on a nice essay to let my Gather friends know that I was safely out of my home which is located South of New Orleans, but after completing it, adding the groups to send it, and pressing the "SUBMIT" button it vanished, never to be found.
Just a few words in replacement. We left about 1a.m. Saturday night in order to avoid the gridlock and "contraflow" that would have turned our 1 1/2 hour trip to Baton Rouge into a grueling creep, based on past evacuations of 6 hours or more.
Still not knowing where the current storm will be heading, we do know that we will have family and friends spread far and wide.....Houston, Texas, Northern Louisiana, Northern Mississippi, Kentucky, and Florida.
I was really bummed about another evacuation and I'm really bummed about losing my article, I'm bummed in general. The thing I can't even begin to imagine doing is returning to a similar scene that we saw when we went back home after Katrina. I do not think I have it in me.
Thanks for reading. I'll post later on and as long as we have power...

Stay safe.
If it were as simple as me making the decisions, I would've stayed my butt in BR after Katrina. Of course, BR is my hometown, its where I lived the majority of my life, and it is where my son lives. However, the decision was not mine alone. If it is "Deja Ve All Over Again," I really don't think I have it in my mental/emotional fuel tank to return and go through what we chose to endure since then, I believe I would feel the same without all the BR connections.
