Hubby and I took a nap today. We turned the air conditioner way down, closed the blinds, and climbed into bed together. It was so dark and cold in the bedroom, and we were able to cuddle close without sweating each other out of the bed. It was a glorious 4-hour nap! LOL! We have the weirdest sleep schedules. Some days we never see the sunlight because we are so nocturnal.
He's out on the paper route right now. Thank the LORD I don't have to do it alone for another week or so. We came to a compromise when it comes to the route. He won't make me do it for more than 1-2 nights at a time, and if it's longer than that, he'll get a substitute. We had a little tiff about it the other day. But, all is forgiven and resolved now. Ugh, between my day job, which is medical transcription, ChaCha, and basically being a lazy lazy girl, and not to mention really not digging the paper route too much, I just really wasn't looking forward to doing it for long periods of time if I could help it. I love him so much for doing that route, working hard, and for understanding and coming to the compromise.
I haven't been feeling well the past couple of days. I have had a urinary tract infection, and before that I had surgery to have a cyst removed. I had some blood tests done at the doctor the other day, and my white blood cells came back a little high. I think it's because of all these annoying infections I've been having. They wanted me to come in for a repeat test, but I think I'll pass for the time being. Getting labs done is EXPENSIVE! My LDL cholesterol is borderline high, as well. My sister and I were talking about this and observing that it seems like skinny people tend to have high cholesterol. I said it was probably because thin people with a high metabolism usually eat whatever they want in big quantities, therefore causing adverse health effects even if all that eating doesn't lead to obesity. Hmmm... Anyone know the cause?
Hubby's birthday is coming up on September 3. I have a couple of really meaningful presents to give him, and I'm so excited about them that I keep asking him if I can give them to him early! LOL! I'm so bad about keeping secrets or waiting for surprises. Tomorrow we are going on a date, just the two of us, to a fancy pants restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg called Tru Luv's. It's an American bistro-type restaurant with lots of seafood on the menu right next to the Rappahannock River. Hopefully it won't be thunderstorming and we can sit out on the patio. On Sunday my mom is coming to visit, and I think I'll make hubby's birthday cake that day so we can all sing happy birthday and give him a few gifts that day. Then, on next Wednesday, we'll do something else special for his day. I love spoiling him on his birthday. He always does it for me, so I like to return the favor. :)
Tomorrow I have to do 200 queries for ChaCha to make sure I make the "top guide" list for the following week. I also have quite a few medical reports to get through. At least I can just relax and work with the TV on and my hubby buddy sitting at the desk across from me. I really hope the sunshine comes back, though. It's been rainy and overcast for a couple of days now, and I'm really hoping to get some more sun before fall hits. Here in Virginia it usually goes straight from summer to winter in a snap, so I want to take advantage of the sun. I can already smell the leaves and a hint of crisp cold in the air late at night... fall will be here sooner than we think!
I hope all of my Gather friends are had a great week and you all have a great weekend! What do you have planned? Any comments or questions? LOL! Talk to me!

recording sessions.....Love Fredericksburg
I hope your husband has a good birthday. Yes, weather here in VA can be pretty crazy. It rained nonstop for four days this week and it got so cold. Luckily it's warming up now, but we usually have a longer lasting summer/fall and get winter in December/Janurary.
I hope you get to feeling better.
No big plans for the weekend, hopefully find a bbq to go to!
we have no kids and nothing plan and just set the ac low and go to bed,, thanks for the idea...
Thank You for posting to tryingfor3000.gather.com
Marsha -- I do a paper route also. Depending on your area, and the paper you are delivering, you might be surprised how lucrative a paper route can be. And the Christmas tips I got last year were fantastic! December was so much fun -- every day I went to the mail box and found checks for Christmas tips. I hadn't had that much fun in ages!
sounds like a busy schedule right now!
