Hibiscus, Summer 2008

These are pics from my hibiscus - althea or rose of sharon plant, the color of the flowers is pale pink, it didn't look as big nor exotic as I expected, but the plants survived last winter somehow.  Once I thought of it as a hydrangea plant until one of them produced flowers.

The buds took long time before blooming, maybe a month or so.  The blooms lasted like only 1-2 days.  There are more than one plants I believe, but in summer 2008, only one produced flowers & only 3 flowers so far, one by one turned into some kind of pod.

J. P. your plant is in the hibiscus family but it is actually an Althea aka Rose of Sharon.
