Would you split twins up or keep them together in school?

Ok I have 3 1/2 year old twins.  They "might" be going to preschool if they qualify... and I believe there is only one class so they will be together if they do go. 

So I told Daddy that would be a good test to see if they do good together for when they go to Kindergarten.  but he said no we should split them up still! I see what he is saying...

I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the subject!

I would split them up. I have a friend who has triplets...they did better in separate classes...made their own friends...

Why don't you see what child psychology experts have to say about it? I would think it would be better to separate them so they can develop as separate people and not be defined as one half of a whole set.

yeah thats why daddy wants to seperate them.. he said they need to learn to do stuff by themselfs

I think that they may be a bit young to be split up. But my twin brothers were spolit as of kindergarden, and they are 25 and doing ok.

I would split them up. They can become separate people and their teachers will think of them as individuals instead of as a pair.

I think it would be best to slipt them up when they are confortable at school, not the first year but the next might be best. The teachers will still learn they are different people, it's not really a big deal. :-)

Do what you feel is right for your kids.

I agree that they should be split up. It makes it easier for them to make friends, and find an identity outside of being "The twins".

My sister is a nanny to twin boys. They have always split them up!

I think being young like they are, them being in the same classroom together might be a good idea. When they get to be older like 1st grade then consider different classrooms. I am a mom to two sets of twins...something that I will dealing with in a few years. Good luck.

well this yeah they were seperated.. the schools choice.. not sure whats gonna happen next year..since itll be a different preschool

I just signed my twin girls up for pre-school and the teacher asked if it's ok to seperate them and I said no, I want them together.

They will do the best if left to work however they've been working.

The majority is saying spilt them up. I would have to agree.
