Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos of Idaho Springs, Alice, and St. Mary's Glacier. I taught in Idaho Springs in the late 1960's and early 1970's so I have many fond memories of the area and people. I spent a lot of time hiking in the area and I remember a great experience taking students hiking and glacading down the glacier.

I was stationed in CO once and I didn't want to leave. It is such a beautiful state and there is so much to do if you love the outdoors.

Great article, Carol! Thanks for pointing it out! I love reminiscing about my time in Colorado. That rocky road picture just calls to me... when I get out there these days, I am so busy seeing friends (and okay, I'll admit it -- eating at all my favorite restaurants) that I never seem to find time to see the mountains...

I have actually taken the spring waters at Idaho Springs...course it was back in 1974. Looks like you son found a goldmine of a waterfall. Just beautiful.
