I am supposed to be working on my psychology paper, but having trouble focusing for some reason ...can't imagine why...!
Well okay... maybe I can..
it's been a heck of a week. Moving a kid today (Jess) - great timing - Friday of a long weekend... pick her and her ~stuff~ up in Brampton, drive to Oshawa, then back home... yay for living in cottage country. Ross is at work, but he's coming with me... we'll go as soon as he gets done ... could be nice having both kids in the same place in the long run ...and Oshawa is a lot closer to Peterborough, where I will be during the week ... of course, that all depends on how many "MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! " phone calls I end up getting from the 2 of them. But they're big girls now ...supposed to be all growed up ...can sort it out for themselves. I hope.
They're going to have to...I got plenty of my own stuff to worry about!
school starts Tuesday - not classes, just orientation activities...and lots of them ... field trips and BBQs and meetings and interviews and ... it looks like it is going to be a very, very busy week.
My new (and very pretty) laptop is working well ... now.... got it on Wednesday ...and had to call tech support already!!!! The battery only charged to 82% and then - even though it was plugged in - was "not charging" according to the indicator. I didn't pay extra for a 6 cell battery to have only the use of 82% of it!
Anyway, they were able to help ...seems to be working much better now... but haven't emailed them to close the issue yet... figure I'll leave it a few days and make sure.
I was expecting to be a lot more frustrated with Vista than I am - I actually am finding it no problem at all ...and Windows Mail, which replaces Outlook Express, is SO much better than OE ever was.
It sure is a lot faster! Can whip through hundreds of pages dropping my entreCards as I go. Entrecards, for those of you that don't know, are a way of publicizing one's blogs... you drop your card on others' blogs and they drop on yours. I have been using them for both of my Today.com blogs and finding it to be quite effective.
A lot of the traffic is drop and go - and I do a lot of that as well - but in the process have been making connections with others ...when I find blogs that interest me, I stop, drop, & leave a comment :)
I'm really enjoying the Today.com blogging thing.... doesn't hurt that they pay, either. Hope I can keep up once I'm in school full time again - but while they pay $1/day for your post, they don't REQUIRE you to post every day... so should be okay either way.
<--- is my referral link if you're interested in applying for your own paid blog - and for whoever did already - thank you and I DO hope you'll let me know your URL so that I can drop by! The stats only tell me that I have a referral ... not who/where!
These are my Today.com blogs (pictures are linked), if you're interested (or if you just want to be nice and contribute to my blog traffic. Would LOVE to hear from some of you Back to School for Grownups members over there, too, of course!
I'm also still using Wordpress, although not as much - and that stuff mostly gets cross-posted here... didn't do that with my last post though, cuz I just didn't want to take the time to upload all the pictures here ... yeah I know...with the promotion it would have made sense... but oh well.... not like anyone here is dying for want of a photo essay :)
There are pictures of the grandbabies and some of the critters we encountered on our boat ride the other day though, if anyone is interested. Hmph! Just went to try to grab a couple of the pictures from there to upload here and they're bitmaps when I try to save them... would have to switch over to other computer to do it and that is just too much like work. Maybe later...I did get some good shots... my favourite is one of a blue heron flying overhead. Wonder where my Paintshop Pro disk ... oh, and my easyShare disk for the camera... need to find those! Dang!
Anyway ...suppose I should get to work ... Ross will be home at some point and we'll have to leave ... be nice to get at least one section of the paper done. With him around all weekend ...and possibly also one/both kids... and Colton's first birthday party (for which I have yet to go shopping; bad grandma Lee!!!) tomorrow and... OMG I am NEVER going to get everything done!!!!

It's not very difficult to use and in some ways is actually easier.
Have a good weekend - take one thing at a time and don't forget to enjoy life.
I have never used Vista but I am planning on getting a new laptop this winter...I am thinking green.
I have heard it both ways some people love Vista and some hate it. Guess I will find out soon enough.
My sister thought it was silly of me to ask her permission.
Go figure. :)
upgraded the CPU and RAM ... so it just flies compared to my other 2 computers
And I'm still jealous of the laptop.
have a good week end. I hope you are able to get the girls moved and settled.
I spotted your comment too. We have been missing each other. I worked the past week, and our little dog Sadie died. It has been a very hard, painful week. But getting a little better. And the extra day is a blessing.
