In a recent article, I described my acquisition of some old photos in Texas.
Several month ago, my businss required several visits to Austin, Texas.
Outside of the city, I passed a few antique shops where I stopped to browse through bins of old letters and photos.
Over the course of several visits, I collected a small pile of photographs.
Among the photographs were two shots of a young man in uniform. On the front of each card is witten "Love, Bill".
I know nothing about Bill, where he lived, where he served, what happened to him.
All we know is that, sometime in the middle of the last century, Bill looked like this.

I believe that you are correct, Ruth.
I agree, Vicky.
It looks like Bill is stationed abroad.
We'll have to ask one of the military guys, Dorine.
It could be Korea operations, too.
Ron will be along after a while, I am sure.
I believe that those are the characters for "Always Recycle", Kate.
I've also asked her sister. She's slightly less reliable.
We're eager to learn, Beaker!
I'm committed to recycling, Kate.
I know that that is possible, Andrea. But personal papers and photos usually get sold only when someone is trying to settle an estate.
Of course, the person to whom Bill sent the pictures might be the one who is gone.
I think it means "Always Recycle", Beaker.
Maybe it means "Always recycle or go to hell".
This end up.
Fragile
Fragile "
That is entirely plausible, Andrea.
My favorite woudl be, "Postcards: Do Not Bend"
The characters certainly lend themselves to many meanings.
