There is nothing like a trip to an arcade to bring out the "inner child" in most adults. It's a great way to escape the afternoon heat - or to find a diversion on a rainy day on the Alabama Gulf Coast. There are games for all ages, of course, but our family most enjoys skee ball. It is less taxing than bowling and more interactive than most video games. What starts out as a friendly match usually turns into a competition, though, and frequently the adults look around to discover the children have stopped playing and started rooting for one parent or the other. Everybody wins, though, when it's time to have some refreshments and rehash the "thrill of victory" over a good meal.
