Greetings from the land of blowing winds and catfish jumping. I am wondering if I was featured on something recently as I've been getting many friend
requests. I am, of course, most humbled and grateful and will accept all who ask!
Ok, while Miz Mariana is on this brainy machine, I must say that times are getting most dramatic. I went into the dollar store to purchase water and other hurricane essentials. The lady who works there was all tight-jawed about her supplies. She told me that they got plenty of water but they are totally out of potted meat. She said if I wanted some I best get to Winn-Dixie quick. I said, thanks boo, I'll pass.
Other news from the brownist blue bayou I've ever seen is that I do not know which way the storm is going to travel. I'm up gumbo creek without a spoon cause there is no where to stay. I've called most of the hotels from Opelousas on up and New Orleans folks have reserved them all. I may have to stay and be at the mercy of the Sheriff's Department. If that happens, I will be keeping all of you posted with the goings on of old Gustav. I am sure he and I will be good podnahs once this escapade has rock and rolled through these swamps.
I'm writing you now in the event that things get busy here. My location is Franklin, La. in St. Mary Parish. I am between Morgan City, La. and New Iberia, La. Thanks for sending me good vibes! Salud

love you.
Your info came too late! I'd already ordered JLB's latest and have it here before me now. In this one Dave travels to Montana, so I'll miss the bayous and the rain on his tin roof and the streaks of lightning over the bayou.
Be safe!
It's good to see the Gatherites offering you options and support.
We will look forward to your updates. Should we send you a few cans of SPAM?
Stay safe, and I'm serious about that - after all, we are neighbors right now.
I'll be sending good thoughts your way and hope Mr G veers away of better yet, disappears at sea.
First things frirst. I think you have a title for your sixth book in this heartfelt tale!
Here's my theory. Fay was a barmaid that boo-hooed all over the South and stayed at everyone's house down there way too long. Gustav is her old German boyfriend who is coming to claim her. Like many old Germans, his bark will be greater than his bite. If he comes your way, invite him for a beer on the porch and send him on his way. He will never forget the favor and leave your house undisturbed.
Fay, well that's a whole 'nuther drama. I hear she's staying at her sister house up in Arkansas eating potted meat and Saltines.
Take care boo.
Cheers,
Colonel Possum
Stay safe, dear Lady Mariana.
Love and blessings!!!
Thank you Lionel for your hospitality. I have a very good friend in Spring and webfoot lady invited me to the company apartment in Katy; however, there are road risks as well and I can't handle bumper to bumper traffic - the evacuation order hasn't yet been issued and when it will be, there will be a vicious traffic jam with no where to go except one car length per hour. Thank you for your prayers folks and your wishes and good vibes and thoughts. I will post as soon as things change - actually, for a person like me this is a dramatic and exciting time! Many blessings. Salud
Still keeping you in prayer.....
Blessings!
