Fred, it was an excellent speech Hillary gave. I liked that line, and was really proud of Hillary. I also liked it when she directly asked her supporters: Did you do it for me, or for all those people who are hurting from the current administration? What she does is for the people and she will continue on that path. Her supporters would do well to takes notes. The differences between the parties are huge, and if you supported Hillary, why on Earth would you switch to McCain, the sidekick of Dubya. No way, no how, no McCain! My new mantra.

I must admit, this is the first time I actually LISTENED to something that was coming out of Hillary's mouth.

I think alot of it when voting will comwe down to the race issue. For me it won't. As I have made up my mind to vote for Obama...even if I think he has little experience. I think he will do a better job than McCain...I think Obama is what this country needs right now.

I've been impressed so far, now Obama needs to bring it home.

Her speech was excellent. If she had maintained this type of decorum througout she might have won. She caved to the pander game and I believe was felt she had to attack opponents in order to show stregnth. When it takes more stregnth and wisdom to win without stooping to the lowest common denominator, than it does to win a mud wrestling match. No offense to mud wrestlers out there, I am sure you are strong and smart. Just using the imagery to drive the point home. I really do believe that someone, somewhere convinced her this was a way to show stregnth and power to win because she is female. Too bad. I think she needs to maintain this, which I believe is HER TRUEST self and America needs more people being True to themselves. If she does this then the worst that happens is she stays in the Senate for a long time and does a great job of it. Or maybe she might get an appointment such as Attorney General. Or Governor of New York, have they had a female yet? No it isn't about gender I just like to appreciate groundbreaking moments as they come along.

I also liked the fact the speech came on the 88th anniversary of women becoming eligible to vote. Seriously what the heck is so wrong with a country that has so many wonderful things going for it that we are just so far behind so many other countries, for centuries in some cases. Slavery - bad, women not being able to vote - bad, Women were not even allowed into Harvard when I was born, seriously???? Alter boys (no girls) for so long and possibly still true in some churches. There are people who still don't think women should be allowed to become ministers/preachers/etc. And I take that very personally.

Several Presidents had far less experience. Lincoln, Eisenhower (yes I know he was a five star general, but he had not served at an elected position there so I am calling this as holding political office experience) and many others, most of whom are remembers quiet fondly. Truman never set his sites on the White House at least not until after FDR died, and the reason he went into politics was because he was a failure as a businessman, but did a fine job with the country.

Hillary paved a road that Bill, if he will walk it, can use to really pull things together before Sen Obama takes the stage. I hope he will do it.

She knocked it out of the park for sure!!! I'm an Obama supporter, have been since the start. I think Hillary made the important points for him. And I'm sure, given the wonderful intro from Michelle Obama (and the girls) on Monday, and Hillary last nite, that Barack will bring the fire he needs to convince those still on the fence that he is our country's best hope for significant, lasting change. I'm thrilled to be in this country at this point in history.

Those were great lines. I thought her speech was terrific. She focused on the most important thing: the democrats need to unite so that the ideals of the party come first, not any one person.

p.s. I was never a big fan of hers, but last night she was all right in my book! :)

Well Lera, that's what a convention's all about. And better than the hate fest the RNC promises to be. Plenty of Zell Miller moments for everyone. That's the true difference between the parties. Democrats are about love and caring about everyone, Republicans are about anger, fear, and the will to be "right" despite evidence to the contrary.
