I feel his silence kept him from several inane conversations. I am sure he was busy thinking of other issues. What a guy. I also prefer to speak when it will really contribute, or mean something..... Ellen B
But, a better Lincoln quote on the subject is, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
