I have named my pets, both dogs and cats based on personality and specific characteristics. Always tried to come up with unique names that most people end up asking why I named my pet that particular name.

Oh I have Patches, Cali, Sassy, & Lil'Bit
We visited a dog park one day and a woman called, "Bailey" and 5 dogs went running her direction.

My dog is named Freebis. It's the street that leads from the dog pound to our house.

I know a few pets with those names, but my cat has an unusual name-Shuji. It's japanese for mountain or Caligraphy (depending on what kanji you use).

I name my cats according to personality or how it came about that I got them. We just caught 2 kittens one at a time in our live humane trap that we have, they were born under our neighbors' house. We named the first one we caught Trapper. The second one is Midnight. They are both solid black!! Thank you for posting to krazy4kittykats!!
