This week's prompt:
Charlie Chaplin once said, ""To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain and play with it!" For this week, keep that quote in mind and give this little sad clown, his story.
He was smaller than the other freshman boys who ridiculed his shocking red hair and the large nose that overpowered his pale face. He asked me to the freshman homecoming dance and I accepted. After a good ribbing by my friends, I am ashamed to say that I gave in to peer pressure and broke off the date. I remember how sad he looked when I told him. Then his mouth formed a grotesque grimace and I could feel his anger. We did not speak for the remainder of high school.
Years later, while out to lunch, I ran into Ronald again. All was forgiven. He was very gracious and offered me balloons and a free Big Mac.
