At the border we handed the guard our passports and she asked where we were going. We said SHOPPING, she laughed, handed us back our passports and said have a good time. That was too easy. We never shop, hate shopping but always say that because that's what the guards think you are going to do. We could of been terrorists but were happy to be on our way without any hastle.

We stopped in Ellicottville for a drive around the area. Usually when we're here the snow is deep and we have our skis with us. This time we wanted to hike, see the place with no snow on the ground, have lunch out and share some girl talk.

Holiday Valley was under construction building the much talked about condos next to the golf course and ski hills. We drove around the mountain and saw some interesting Chalets.

Our goal was Griffis Sculpture Park, so after lunch that is where we headed.

The hike was fine. It was a beautiful day. It was a photo op.

I was looking for the color rust!

My friend Noreen is hiding.

We were in the woods - here's a stream

Imagine our surprise when we came around a corner ans saw naked people!

This is me acting like I'm posing.

This is my friend Noreen posing!

some pretty berries came into view

Our last bare naked lady for a while.

My friend found this rust colored maple leaf for me

Now we're into big bugs

My friends spots a naked man...

And she tries to cover his privates with the maple leaf...

It doesn't work...

There is a castle

Noreen got lost in the maze.

I don't think I've ever seen a rose hip this big. It looked like a tomato.

The sumac were pretty

We're heading back down the mountain now.

And now you've seen what we saw. There is another Sculpture park near by and we plan to get back in the fall to hike it with our cameras!
My camera is a Canon PowerShot A720IS

There's a sculpture park near me that I've been meaning to visit!
Thanks for submitting this to Everything About New York State
Thanks for this. I used to live a few blocks away from another Larry Griffis sculpture: Birds Excited Into Flight. I miss seeing it every day.
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
your friend is a hoot... maple leaf on David??hehe...
beautiful photos of everything... Bless you...
I love seeing all of these wonderful sculptures. Love the one where Noreen tries to cover the man up! LOL.
We have an excellent sculpture park nearby: Laumeier Sculpture Park. We used to spend Sundays there, both before we had kids and when the kids were young. I haven't been there much lately, but it is a great place.
I don't see the need for flagging this though- we see this kind of material at our local art museum all the time, with our kids and without them, and it is free to get in, so lots of families (and single people) enjoy the art all week, naked people (or, rather, representations of them) and all.
U wishing you laughter
magnificence of your post !!
The superb shots and the Sculpted bodies - how well
they are beautifully exhibited, and equally bold friend Noreen !!!
This post is spotlighted in the Friday edition of Today on Gather
