Saturday we went to Pewitt's Nest to hike and see what damages the flood waters had caused there. While there I picked up a rock to take back with me. I shoved it in my pocket and was met with paper.
Odd, I thought as I pulled it out to see what it was. Well, it was $2. Where it came from I have no idea. Clint doesn't remember giving it to me, and I rarely have cash on me and almost solely use my debit card for anything I purchase. So, we decided if neither of us missed it enough to claim it, then it was Gideon's.
Later that night we took him shopping as per his request, with his $2. While out at Walmart we saw a notice for a coloring contest with a Spongebob theme. There would be 8 prize winners.
Now, this contest was not announced on Tuesday when we were shopping for school supplies, so somewhere between Wednesday and Saturday they announced it. The winners were to be picked today, the 25th. We grabbed two sheets - one for home (because they never return the entries) and one to send in.
Gideon got to work on his entry. Sadly, he seemed to feel rushed since he had one night to do it in. Typically he colors better than this. :(
The first thing Gideon decided was that Spongebob was going to have a purple sword for the contest copy and a green one for his copy.

Then he got to work on the hat.

He started the hat on the copy he was to keep at home.

I don't know about any of you, but I never bothered to use white crayons... that is unless the paper was a dark color. Gideon, however always uses white.

Next up? Coloring Spongebob, of course.

Time to color his pores.

I kept noticing Gideon getting up and going to his Spongebob table. A while later I realized what he was doing. He was checking what color his socks were supposed to be. Details. Gideon's all about the details.

Here's the one for home again. At this point he decided he didn't want to do both at the same time and he just focused on the entry one.

On to the pants!

All done! Gideon slipped and forgot the shirt was supposed to be white. LOL

Now we wait.. and see if maybe, just maybe Gideon gets one of those 8 prizes. Of course, I was careful to remind him that we might not win, and that's okay, because it's fun just trying. :)
