In addition to the trees, there were a few cute little guys that deserved a special picture, too. I found some mushrooms along the trail.

And some kind of fungus next to the cabin.

Friday's dinner menu was noodles. My husband set up the portable gas stove and I started cooking. As the noodles started to smell good, an unannounced visitor showed up. I think it was the same buck we saw earlier, but I could be wrong. He walked straight up to me only about 10 feet away, and stared at me, as if he was asking, "Hey, what's for dinner?" He finally walked away after getting nothing from us.

The noodles tasted good, but dinner was awkward, because my husband forgot to bring any plates or bowls (the #1 item on my checklist)! We had to put the noodles in small Styrofoam cups. But, we survived.
The previous tenants left behind some firewood. Plus the twigs and fallen tree logs we had collected earlier, my husband started a campfire. He found two skinny long branches and washed them off. Then he started to roast marshmallows on them.

Oops! The marshmallow got on fire. Hurry! Blow out the fire!

We enjoyed crispy marshmallows by the campfire. Then we packed up everything, secured the food items, and called it a night.
To be continued...
