My boys' first fishing trip!

My sons (ages 5, 5 and 4) have been wanting to go on a fishing trip for a while now. Begging really. This summer, we went out to a lake with their grandparents and their great-grandparents (who are still avid fishers) and we let them fish. We made a rather enjoyable stop at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts first and sugared them up for the day.

When we got to the lake it was still early, a little cold and there were very few people there yet. Just a couple fisherman. The trees surrounding the lake reflected in the water. It was absolutely beautiful. Grandpa decided they should fish off the pier.

They were too cute in thier krispy kreme hats and sunglasses. This is the going fashion now, you know?

My daughter and I were not so interested in fishing so we took a walk along the lake and found some cute baby ducks who came up and ate right out of our hands.

The Loralei got a little tired of our walk.

So she decided it was time to play in the sand.

It was a fun day. Everyone ended up in the water to swin after fishing. No fish were caught but the boys can't wait to go fishing again.
