Summerpics - Arlington National Cemetery

These are all new pictures I am posting for the picture promotion, They include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier changing of the guard, JFK,& RFK's graves, The Marines who died trying to rescue the Iran hostages, Audie Murphy, General Omar Bradley, The space shuttle Challenger, The Iraq section of the cemetery and various other shots. This is one of my favorite place to visit and pay respect to those who have served and died  for our country. I hope you enjoy looking at this beautiful place.

Nice views of the cemetery! Cemeteries are one of my favorite places to go and ponder things. Despite what they are, I find so much energy in places like those.

I have been wanting to go there for years. My dad and I talked about going during the summer, but never ended up going. Maybe next year.

Visited it several times and have known some buds who served on the Tomb Guard or Old Guard. It's well worth visiting.

A good movie about the troops who serve with the Old Guard is "Gardens of Stone"

I have only been to DC the one time, but it was February and we did not have the chance to go to the Cemetery, opting to visit my aunt in the Pentagon instead. The twins will be in DC this weekend, and I am hoping to take them here. Really want to see it.
