When we first set out, the sun was just barely starting to set.

But, just a few minutes later, it slipped behind one of the clouds.

A few minutes later it emerged once again on the other side.

And continued to get lower, and lower.

The clouds in the other part of the sky were really pretty, too.

The moon was even out, too!

Right about the time we got to the end of the road, the sun was just starting to go behind the trees.

And then a little while later:

As we sat there and watched, the sun finally disappeared, leaving a golden trail of footprints behind it.

As we rode back home, I snapped a couple more pictures of the fading sunset.

And then, finally, night set in.
