We've settled well. Jake and I are trying to find a job. Jake has some possibilities, but it turns out that I basically can't work until I turn 18, which is only a couple months, so I guess it's not too bad, but it annoys me because if I hadn't moved I'd be working at my old job (which I loved) by now, and I would also have 2 or 3 other opportunities for hire. -_-'
Anyway, the culture around here is really different from what we're used to. Everything is farms. Anywhere you turn, you'll find hay bales, tobacco, and corn.

There are a lot of different animals around, too. Just across the street, one of the Mennonites keeps his cows. This one's my favorite because it's all black except for a white tail, which I think is neat.

Just down the road there are a couple of horses, too, and I love horses!

There's even a goose that lives down the road, too!

We've made a lot of friends since we've been down here, and everyone is so kind and supportive. It's really nice. It's like a big, extended family, and I like the feeling. Some of the most loyal friends we've met, though, are the best friends of are friends. I'm talking about, of course man's best friend...the dogs!

Things are looking up. ^_^ It's really nice around here. And, best of all, the sunsets are amazing!
