Table Prayer

Just a short little prayer that thanks God for the food we have.
Many people don't thank God for food because they 1 don't think about it,2 they often take it for granted that they have food.

we said this one a lot when I worked at a Christian day care

It's the only one used for at the Christian day care I work at, it's easy for the children to learn.

Your grandma again? It's nice if so, that she taught you more than one.

Yes, Grandma again, both Grandma's had a prayer they really liked the one they were taught as young girls and so having 2 Grandma's I learned multiple prayers. One of these days I need to see if I can find a way to translate some of my favorites into Norwegian and Dutch and then print them out and have them framed. My Dad's mother was Norwegian and my Mom's mother was German Dutch so I had Grandparents that loved sweets and loved making traditional items at holidays and special occasions from both cultures. I inherited one Grandmother's Pizzelle iron and Norwegian cookie press, and Lefse iron, I feel blessed to have these items especially when I found out that my cousins were just going to throw them out in the trash because they didn't know how to use them. I spent a lot of time with my Grandparents especially my Dad's mom since she lived the closest I often got to spend a week close to Thanksgiving and a week close to Christmas helping make Norwegian treats so although I'm still learning to master the pizzelle iron and lefse iron I'm getting quite close according to my ultra picky brother to how Grandma always made it. I miss my Grandparents quite a bit especially at holiday time.

My Grandma told me this one was used frequently in lots of places and I soon learned that when I started going to Sunday school,this is the prayer the kids said before snack time.
