Would you rather single photos or photo essays?

Obviously it would be easier to do them in batches, but I think people are doing them individually for the points, and that is definately understandable. I have noticed that no one seems to be having any time to read other people's stuff.

Viewing I could care less. I think everyone has the right to choose what they feel is best for them.

For me uploading unless it's an old shot or not too good I like them as single photos so they appear in my photo gallery.

I'm all for whichever way people ant to do them. Personally, I'm putting pictures up one at a time...only 170 so far.

It doesn't matter to me. I usually look at posts first and when I'm done with all those, then I go to the images. So, I'm more likely to see it if it is in a photoessay.

I don't care either way...for the 10 points for pix...if you are interested in the $$, you get 10 points each whether they are in a group or single. BUT, I bet for points from views, you'll score more single. Whatever makes sense. One at a time uploads easier than a photo essay, but photo essays are fun, too. Boy, what a non-answer!

Personally I prefer the single photos. It lets each get more attention and I'm not going to post 100's of photos, I'm still posting one's that I find interesting of mine or lately, ones that make you think about summer. I might do a reupload of earlier summer photos in a photo essay though.

I know with photo essay's it allows you to post a lot more at once, but then people can just pick and choose an image and they get less fews that way, but your getting more points.

I prefer uploading and viewing photos individually. Photo essays are okay, but only when they are actually done as a photo essay and not just as a group posting of related photos. I am not doing any photo essays because I do not have the time to commit in one sitting to make one, so I just continuously upload individual ones as I do other things I need to get done.

Since this promotion started, I haven't really had much time to go through individual pictures that my connections post. I've been trying to hit one person's individual photos easy day, but I didn't get that done on Wednesday. I can look through the photo essays much quicker, even with viewing and rating every single one (which I do). I also like the photo essays better, because I can leave one comment on the essay, and then just leave a comment here or there on the individual pictures, and they still know I took the time to view them. If you don't leave comments on the individual pictures, it's harder for them to know who went through and rated them.

I Do both cause i think ppl may like one or two pics from my essay and they want to personally comment them

Photo essays get my vote and here's why.

First, unless you really have a fantastic photo and truely believe you can win the camera, why not be considerate to others?

Second, feed spamming photo after photo for hours at a time makes it impossible for anyone connected with you to find photos worth commenting on or photos that are for a specific group assignment. If you just want the 10 points, again, why not be considerate of other people?

Third, would you really want a page in your photo feed dedicated to the same bird nest? Think I'm making a joke? People have done that. And it's rediculous. A photo essay wpould allow for the points and a place for the photos without being a sacrifice to other people.

Finally, most of the feed spammers I have witnessed so far are so busy posting their own stuff that they can't even be bothered to stop by and leave a comment on anything posted by anyone else.

Shannon, you get the 10 points even if they are in the essay - you just have to label them as summerpics on each photo.

Shannon is incorrect. Photo essay pics earn 10 points each as long as each photo has the "summerpics" tag.

I'm doing the essays, because I know I won't win the camera. I'm not a great photographer. I don't care how other people do it, but they don't need to get upset when they load 200 photos and I can't get to every single one. With all my connections it is impossible for me to see everything, so I'm trying to visit and at least look at SOME of their stuff.

And I have seen a couple of people upset because they don't feel they are getting enough comments.

Normally, I prefer to look at a photo essay with the pictures embedded in an article. The way I look at is that you still have to open up each pic. to look at it...so for the promotion it doesn't really matter to me if it's an essay or individual pic. I don't really use the feeds because I cannot keep up with them anyhow. I'll try to hit up pages in batches and do a number of comments on that persons page in one shot rather than to try to keep up with them as they are being posted. I tried a photo essay earlier. It was alright. It's a little easier for me to upload them one by one though.

Doesn't matter to me. I do the best I can to comment and rate my connections stuff. If I miss a few, I can't help it. I wasn't on here for a couple of days and now I can't catch up. Oh well, no biggie. :)

I'm doing photo essays. I'm using quality photos - not just anything to get points.
I will not send email spam for my posts. I never have. It's just irratating when everyone wants the same thing.
So, do we, or do we not have to label each individual photo in an essay "summerpics" to get points for each? I'm still confused. I may have to go back to one of my essays and re-do each photo.

I do photo essays, and sometimes I will post an individual photo. I know I won't win the camera, so I am not even trying for that.

I have not had any time to go through the photo feeds, and whenever I do I get very overwhelmed, so now I'm sticking to the ones in the post feed.

I, like others, am only uploading photos that are invocative of "summer"... I never post photos on Gather than I feel are "inferior" (fuzzy and out of focus, dark, overexposed or with the subject out of frame). Every time I go out and take a bunch of photos (of whatever), I usually wind up dumping most of them.

I'm taking advantage of this promotion because I didn't really get to during the last one due to other commitments, but I STILL REFUSE to publish ANYTHING here on Gather that I would not be proud to claim at some later date... I try to adhere to an elevated standard of quality in "BODY of work" -- and that includes photos...

I personally don't care how my fellow Gatherers want to publish their "Summerpics" photos... I would really have a problem with ANYONE who got "upset" over not getting very many comments on their stuff right now, though... How can ANY of us POSSIBLY wade through all the posts being made in our feeds to find them all??? I'd say those people really need to snap back to REALITY and GET a GRIP!

I personally rather just upload one at a time, so it is not as overwhelming. I briefly look over the pics before I go back to their profile to leave comments/rate photos. I'm beginning to think I am one of the few people who are still commenting on people's posts as well as pics, too.

I don't really care about my comments..i just want the extra 10 points...i like the essay better
