I won't say much during this essay, I will just post the pictures. The first photo will be the actual sculpture, and then I took separate pictures of the plaque. I tried to get the whole plaque in each shot, but it was very sunny so I didn't always know if I got the whole thing or not. It's hard to tell on my digital camera when it is sunny out if you are taking a good shot or not!
Without further ado... the sculptures.

This next one I took several shots of because there was some awesome details on the side of the sculpture. I remember growing up and spending hours upon hours reading books. Yes, I was a nerd and a PROUD book worm. I lost myself in the stories, and felt alone when it was over, until I'd start a new book.

My grandma LOVED Native American ANYTHING, so I know she would have loved to see this one, but she passed away a little over a year ago now...

Rick had a hard time with this next one. He kept asking what the chains were attached to. That is just how REALISTIC these sculptures are. I didn't get a wide enough shot, but this sculpture was under a tree, but not close to any branch. I finally made him understand that the sculpture was bronze (I think) so that the chains stood up by themselves, even though they look like the should be attached to a swingset!

The next one I had to take a photo of each side because I couldn't decide which was the better of the two!

These boots were HUGE! I bet they were about 10 feet high!

And finally, Rick had to stand behind this one when I took a picture because he thought it would look "cool." I think he just liked this one because it was named Firefly and that is a song by Rammstein that he likes!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing these sculptures as much as I enjoyed my walk! I can't wait to go back again next year and see all the new entries! I never find out which ones win awards, because I like to pick my own out. Which would be your pick for Best Sculpture 2008?
