But, first, let me rewind a little. If you're interested in other parts of the park, here are previous photo essays I posted about it:
The Kentucky Horse Farm
The Draft Barn
The Breeds Barn
The Horse Cemetery
The Parade of Breeds opened with the Star Spangled Banner.

Then out came the announcer on Rani, a Marwari from India. It's an extremely rare horse. There are only 15 left in North America, and only 500 in the entire world.

They're beautiful horses, and if you pay attention you'll notice that their ears are a little weird. They're curved at the top, and oftentimes will even touch to form a full circle, or cross even, when at rest.

Next is the first gaited horse. It's a trotter named Domino Dolly. The thing with these horses is that they will never canter or gallop, they are only allowed to trot. It's really neat to watch their gait.

This next one's a newer breed of horses that was created in the United States. He's Kappachino Blast, and he's a National Show Horse.

This next one is named Bold Aggression and he's a National Walking Horse. Their gait is very interesting because when they "run" it's really a horizontal gait where they move each side pair of legs at the same time rather than the diagonal front opposite back motion that most horses run. This breed never runs, but rather walks and they have a very smooth ride.

Next comes Pretty Boy Floyd, the Appaloosa, which used to be used by the Navajo Indians as war horses.

Then it was Engage, the Arabian.

Then it was Albion, the English Shire.

And last, but definitely not least, my personal favorites: the friesans. Can't remember their names, though. These horses were perfectly gaited. There are only a few times in these pictures where the two horses were out of step, and even by then they were only about a second off from each other, and it was impossible to catch it with the naked eye.

And then it was over and everyone gathered together for a final goodbye.
