A Morning Without Coffee is Sleep

Right now, I'm getting nether coffee nor sleep and it's frustrating! After being pummeled with medical and financial issues the last few days, I'm feeling a bit battered. Waking up a 4 a.m., unable to go back to sleep is frustrating to say the least. That is when the mind is just enough awake to create havoc!

I didn't make any coffee hoping I would be able to go back to sleep, but that was wishful thinking on my part. I read. I watched the Olympics for about 10 minutes; Spain vs Lituania basketball. Riveting.

So, I might as well get up, make some coffee and forget about going back to sleep! It's really overrated anyway.

There is joy headed my way this day, however. Meeting a friend for coffee (I'll need more by then) to chat. She is a good listening and told me to come over and talk things through. Then later today another friend has invited me to LACMA for their Friday night art and jazz. Should be fun.

Time to make some coffee and face the day! Joy - Bring it On!

{{HUGS}} Ugh nights without sleep are miserable. I used to have severe insomnia, where I'd sleep only about 10-15 hours a WEEK. Worked full time too... drove over an hour to work each day - many days I almost fell asleep at the wheel. Coffee does help, and so do friends who are good listeners. I am wishing you the best day filled with all kinds of joy :-)

Watching the Olympics didn't put you to sleep? Have you tried infomercials? We have a weather radar channel that repeats its monotone message - that's what I use at 4 AM.

try to sleep soon the body needs it. maybe go get some benadryl and it will probably help you sleep

I certainly am no stranger to insomnia, so I know what you are going through. It's no fun at all. Eventually I turned to my doctor for help, and he prescribed Ambien CR to use only now and then, but it got me on the right track at least.

Thanks for all the friendly support and advice, I did, however, go back to bed and slept for a couple of hours. It helped. I should be fine for the rest of the day!
