How can I -- an unworthy and insufficent mortal -- even dare aspire to define "The Essence of Summer"?
For, summer IS an "essence" -- an ephemeral, fleeting, vision... like the gossamer of dragonfly wings...
Summer is temporal -- blooming like a flower...
that then fades with the setting of the sun...
Summer is a memory -- a ripening fruit... lingering on the vines of longing that entwine our hearts, minds and psyches...
Summer is circle -- as the Cycle of Life renews itself, yet again...
Summer is a song... heralded by the voices of a grand and diverse chorus dressed in breathtaking plumage...
Summer is migratory -- like the welcome visitors it brings as it makes its journey, in the mere blink of an eye, from spring into autumn......
Summer is a rainbow... A vivid, awe-inspiring spectrum of colors...
that explode in their brilliance...
Sparkling and glistening in the full face of the Sun, their hues are redeemed...
Summer is whisper as it evaporates into the ether...
...and is consumed...
as darkness falls...
and Winter begins the work of conjuring its slumbering spell...
Summer makes me happy...

I don't get the cash option... Mostly because I don't post 3,000 points worth in a month... It takes me about 3 months to get up enough for a $50 gift card, so, that's only about 1,000 points per month...)
I agree with a statement you made on another post, I also only post photos that I carefully consider....and I don't bombard folks with a dozen of the same poor shot....
