A thought for Gather....

You know there are a lot of people upset by the lastest contest, just like there was the train icons and so on.  I have what I think is a pretty good idea to make everyone happy!

What if gather added a flag catagory, "Contest" if your content in any way reflects a contests entry you flag it.  Those willing to see the contest content would go in and set it like they do all the other flag content.

 How great would that be?  Those who hate seeing the stuff wouldn't and those of us (like me!) that love a good contest would get to see em all!!

 What do you think good idea?  Would you like to see it?  Think it would solve anything?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I don't mind a good contest, if it is something with a good prize or doesn't take too much thought from me. If I have to do too much to enter, I won't. I'm lazy that way.

Well of course they will always complain but i think it's an idea that could be worth something. I think it's better than the gather ideal - let em gripe. I get sick of hearing it! :-)

I think it might be a good idea. But, really, I think people just need to stop whining and get over it.. it's a disruption in the normal flow of things..it can get old with all the pics and photo essays.. hard to find anything 'real' to read and comment on.. but it's a temporary thing and then it will be over, and people can get a chance to make some extra cash or GC for themselves. Next week they'll be whining about something else.

I'm having lots of fun with the promotion too and have been as considerate as I can be by posting my summer photos in photo essays instead of individual photos. This promotion has given me the motivation to actually go through my photos and post the dang things!

Plus, I'm saving up & earning as much money as possible because we're trying to purchase our very first home. The money earned from this promotion will go straight into our savings account.
